College Park Band Higher Education strives to fill a gap in the local music scene with new recording studio.

Jason Mraz sang to a packed crowd at the Warner Theatre Monday night. The crowd swayed and sang along as he performed new and old songs, and a few covers, and he talked them as if he was talking to an old friend. He opened up. Deep house beats, keys, drums, string instruments, vocalists- that’s what you’ll hear when you watch University of Maryland’s Hip Hop Orchestra perform. But there is more beneath the exterior of the music. This group is redefining genre and what hip-hop music means. Senior sociology major and president of the group, Marcus Moody had his epiphany two years ago when talking with a friend, and he decided to combine his love for orchestral music with hip-hop beats.

American radio presenter Toby Knapp interviewed Tove Lo, a singer-songwriter from Stockholm, Sweden over the weekend. The pop-EDM superstar was passing through while playing a festival, and took a few moments to bring the presenter - and fans - up to speed on her music, life and more! her song song “Habits” – “You're gone and I gotta stay high all the time,” currently in the top 25 on Billboard Hot 100. - Hayley Fahey

Meet Cooperative Housing at the University of Maryland, a group of students at the University of Maryland College Park, who have made it their mission to change how student housing functions, and to give back to their community in the process.
